Upon arrival, our technician spoke with the homeowner to understand what happened and inspected the broken elbow connection in the basement. After confirming the cause of the failure, he walked her through the repair and completed a spot repair on the waterline. That included shutting off water to the home, draining the line, removing the damaged section of pipe, installing new pipe, and adding a ball valve at the connection for better shutoff control going forward. Once reassembled, the water supply was turned back on and the repair was tested to confirm proper function with no leaks.

During the visit, we also discussed the home's water quality with the homeowner, since certain water conditions can contribute to pipe and fitting failures like this one over time. We provided several estimates covering both the immediate repair and options for a broader plumbing upgrade, giving her a clear picture of her choices moving forward. The homeowner chose to move forward with the spot repair, which was completed on-site that day. Everything is on and operational.
