Handyside Plumbing, HVAC & Electrical provided an evaluation and confirmed that the customer needed a spot repair on the main sewer line to address the sewage backup. We moved forward by excavating down to the broken section of pipe, removing up to 10 feet of the damaged line, and performing a camera inspection of the remaining sewer line to confirm that no additional repairs were needed. A new section of Schedule 40 PVC was installed with a 2 way cleanout, and the pipe was bedded in stone above and below to provide proper support. The line was then tested for proper function, and the trench was backfilled to above grade upon completion. During the process, the open area on the hill was dug to install the 2 way cleanout, and a camera and Picote were run to verify that the pipe was clean and clear.

Handyside Plumbing, HVAC & Electrical replaced the main sewer line after determining the clog and backup were caused by a broken section of the existing sewer pipe. Our team removed a section of the driveway and excavated down to access the damaged line. Once exposed, the old pipe was removed and replaced with new piping from the existing sweep to the street. A new cleanout was installed and stubbed to surface level for future access. The new line was properly bedded in stone and all required testing was performed to confirm proper operation. After the work was completed, the excavation was backfilled to above grade in the yard and the removed section of the driveway was temporarily filled with stone until weather conditions allow for the asphalt to be replaced.
