This New Cumberland, PA homeowner contacted Handyside Plumbing, HVAC & Electrical because they wanted better control of the humidity in their home. They also wanted their air conditioning system checked and serviced to help make sure it was ready for the cooling season. The homeowner wanted a more comfortable home environment and peace of mind knowing their cooling system was working properly. Handyside returned to install a whole-home dehumidifier and complete the recommended air conditioning maintenance.

Our technicians installed a whole-home dehumidifier and connected it to the existing HVAC system to help control excess moisture and improve indoor comfort. We completed the necessary connections, checked the drain, and tested the system to make sure it was operating properly. During the visit, we also found that a roof issue was allowing moisture into the home. The roof had been temporarily covered while the homeowners arranged for repairs, and we explained that fixing the roof would help prevent additional moisture from entering the home. We also completed seasonal maintenance on the air conditioning system, checking its operation and inspecting the major components to make sure everything was working properly for the cooling season. The air filter was clean and did not need to be replaced, and the home’s air-cleaning equipment was operating as expected. We did notice some dust in the return ductwork, while the other areas checked were clean. After completing the work, we tested the HVAC systems to confirm they were operating correctly. The homeowners now have better control of indoor humidity and an AC system that is ready for the cooling season.
