Job completed for Charles C

Completion date: April 21, 2026

Location: New Cumberland, PA

Why did the customer contact us?

The customer contacted Handyside Plumbing, HVAC & Electrical because they lost power in the home and believed there may have been a power surge. They reported that while sitting on the couch with two window AC units running, they heard a pop, saw a bright light come from the kitchen, and noticed a burning electrical smell. The fire company responded and confirmed everything was safe, but several light bulbs had burned out and were extremely hot, so they wanted the issue inspected and addressed.

Solutions provided:

Handyside Plumbing, HVAC & Electrical provided an evaluation of the home’s electrical system after the reported power surge and determined that replacement of the existing 100 amp service components was necessary for safety and reliability. We replaced all major components of the existing 100 amp service, including installation of a new 30 space 100 amp panel, new breakers, updated bonding and grounding with two new ground rods outside, a new 100 amp disconnect, new 100 amp meter base, new service cable, and a new weather head. We also included grounding and bonding of the gas and water systems, labeled the panel, and verified that most areas were functioning properly at completion.
